So when you have your Mac webcam not working, make sure you’re not being denied access to the camera because some other app is using it at the moment: Launch Activity Monitor from Applications Quit all other open apps or utilities that might be using the camera (e.g. Skype, FaceTime, and Photo Booth).
MacBook Air 2020 review: Audio and webcam. But on the Sid Meyer’s Civilization VI test, the MacBook Air only notched a 7, lagging behind the 9 category average and the XPS 13's 18.7.
I know the camera works because it comes on when I'm skyping to Europe. How do I turn it on to check it when skype is off? I'm so confused. I can't get into ichat and I can't find the video options dialog box.
Microsoft rolled out the automatic update to the Windows 10 Fall Creators edition (late 2017). Windows has duly proceeded to update itself in Bootcamp, but the camera is no longer recognised. It seems to be a driver issue. However, Windows refuses to install the existing driver for the camera. The message says it's 'not intended for this platform'.
I've tried uninstalling the camera in Windows, and using the built-in function to 'update' the driver. Neither has worked.
Has anyone else encountered/solved this problem?
